Q

Where do we go for our online resources?

Usually my high school had a special username and password to go to certain websites that are more reliable and was wondering if you also know what website we use that are reliable.

Answer

Hey Trent,

Thank you for your questions.

You are correct, you do have access to more reputable sources through Central.

First: log into my.central.edu

Second: on the top right of the homepage will have quicklinks, click on "library"

Third: look at the left-hand column, the fourth item on the list says "Databases A-to-Z", click on that. The very first database on the list, Academic Search Premier, can be useful for almost any topic or subject area so that might be a good place to start.

This list will provide you with access to databases that have scholarly information.  Most will already be logged in because you logged in to get into my.central.edu, if you do need to log in, it is your central username and password.

(if any database is being problomatic, try refreshing or reopening the database)

Let me know if you have any specific questions about locating information.

Thanks,

Greg

P.S. A librarian will be working at the Geisler Library reference desk throughout the day and until 10 pm, so feel free to send another message if you have more questions or stop by.
